HEINER LAMMERS

Short vita

Heinrich "Heiner" Lammers was born in Cloppenburg in 1951, the second of six children. He spent most of his childhood and youth in Gießen. It was there that he got to know and love the sport of table tennis. In addition to school and his first professional activities, his life was shaped for many years by the high-performance sport of table tennis, in which he became European runner-up and German champion as well as world champion in doubles with Liang Geliang in the over-40 category.

Parallel to competitive sport, he learned to work and think commercially. As a result, he opened a sports store and ran it successfully on his own for around ten years until it was sold. In the remaining years of his professional life, he also worked as a businessman.

When his sporting career came to an end, he returned to his old love painting. He studied this subject intensively and deeply in a self-taught way. Limited in time by his various self-employed activities, he only devoted himself to professional painting when he had turned his back on his commercial career. Heiner Lammers now lives with his wife and children in Riedstadt, Hessen.
